Gers campsite with a restaurant
A trendy location with a wine bar, tapas, boards of lovely Ger produce, but also dishes from both here and elsewhere.
Guided by the atmospheric music, you discover the “Food & Wine bar”: high tables, low tables, corner tables, those with cushions and banquettes…You can drink an apéritif, you can eat when you like, and you can end the evening by putting the world to rights, in one of the corners of the terrace lounge.
The menu with organic wines, small producers, local Gers beer, has been lovingly worked out by the Whaka Lodge team. Perfect for accompanying the traditional cooked meats, made locally in the Gers, with the famous Jambon de Porc Noir (cured ham made with pork from purebred Gascon Noir de Bigorre pigs), and of course tapas for those who prefer exoticism.
“Mum, I’m hungry!!! ” The children never forget snack time. Especially if the aroma of crêpes awakens their taste buds. Ice creams, crepes or waffles will fill their little stomachs, before going back to the tent or the cottage for the evening wash.
Dad! Are we going to the restaurant this evening? When on holiday, the family loves to meet up at the restaurant to sample lovely dishes and go back over the day: Cuisse de Canard Confite (preserved duck leg), paella, home-made pastas, salmon tartar, meat nuggets, Frikadelle (German-style meat patties)…And for grand occasions, a plancha with meat selected by the village butcher.
The children’s smiles, the full stomachs of dads, the rosy cheeks of mums, this is what our team sees every evening, with the same satisfaction, when they some to greet the guests, after service, before a good night in our countryside setting.

Several times a week, festive tables around local gastronomy are to the fore on Whaka Lodge, and gourmets hopelessly flock here…
Twice a week during the high season, Whaka Lodge organises a festive evening depending on the mood and given deliveries. A picnic evening on the grass, a Garden-Party on the beach, a barbecue evening, a food truck evening, there is no shortage of ideas and gourmets either!
Also highly sought-after, several times in the season the “Gers speciality” is hosted by local producers, with the sampling of excellent local produce: Foie Gras, wines, Armagnac, local beers…

At the end of the week, the ritual of the evening gathering around the brazier on the beach, is something of an institution on Whaka Lodge. The children are filled with wonder before the fire, the grilling of marshmallows, sharing their memories…the children’s “slow life” meet-up. Prohibited for adults!
On Sunday evening during the summer season, the Gers comes to us, with the holding of a local producers’ market. Farm producers, cheesemakers, fruit and vegetable truck farmers and delicatessen providers, all craftspeople who are passionate about the local area and move around it, to recommend the best it has to offer.
